The GPC® 15A is a new and powerful control module of the ABACO® family of boards, which affords an optimum price/performance ratio. With its modular design, the unit is ideal for the construction of architectures with distributed logic, affording optimum resources in terms of processing and I/O equipment interface.

The GPC® 15A is able to solve many problems of an industrial nature even standing alone, and when necessary, power can be upgraded and the fields of application expanded utilizing the numerous boards of the grifo® family.

The module affords a set of connectors with standardized output pins allowing direct interface to all other boards, notably facilitating the installation of the entire system.

With powerful software packages available, the user can rapidly and conveniently develop all such programs as may be required for a given application, and using high level programming languages. Programming and exploiting the resources of this module is extremely easy thanks to the help of the stout GDOS Romated Operative System. This latter supports high level languages such as BASIC, PASCAL, C Compilers and so on.; it makes available the memory resources as they should be ROM/RAM-Disk allowing an immediate use of this devices at high level. This module linked to the MCI-64 and FGDOS manages PCMCIA cards of RAM cards and, directly, the on-board Peripherals as serial EEPROM. In addition to that the GPC® 15A allows a direct management of LCD or Fluorescent Displays and matrix keyboard. For an immediate use of this command, KDL-224 boards are available, or if you need a finished object, there is the Operator Panel QTP 24P. This Operator Panel, offered in the open frame version, bears the same aesthetic as QTP 24, but, as the local intelligence is not furnished, it is driven directly by GPC® 15A, allowing a notable cost reduction. The FGDOS affords truly notable debug facilities, and allows to program directly on board a FLASH with the user program.

  • 16 TTL I/O lines, with direction set at Bit level, hardware handshake and ability to generate interrupt, controlled via software from PIO section of Z84C15
• Up to 512K FLASH EPROM or EPROM and 128K RAM
  • Memory in excess of 64K operated as RAM/ROM Disk by FGDOS, with stand-alone facility for erasing and programming FLASH EPROM
• Up to 8K RAM with Lithium backup battery and RTC giving time (hours, minutes, seconds) and date (day, month, year), naming day of the week
• Serial EEPROM with capacity from 2 to 64 Kbit
• Two RS 232 serial lines.
  • One line switchable to RS 422, RS485 or Current Loop, controlled via software from SIO section of Z84C15
• Dual Baud Rate generator programmable via software from 300 to 38400 Baud
• 4 Timer Counter available to user and controlled via software from CTC section of Z84C15
• Double Watch-Dog fully retriggerable via software
• Circuitry with Buzzer for generating alarm or audible feedback
• Various LEDs indicating status and activity
• 4-12 software-readable Dip-Switches
• Operating/Debug mode selector
• CMOS technology applied throughout, bringing low power consumption
• Single supply: +5Vdc 180 mA
• Wide range of developement software such as: Remote-Symbolic-Debugger, Macro Assembler, GET-80, BASIC Compiler NoICE, C Compiler, DDS, HTC-80, LISP, CBZ-80, PASCAL Compiler, CMX-RTX, etc. No development system required in order to operate; for example, the FGDOS package and a connection to any PC is sufficient.
